With summer round the corner we all want to be able to get into our summer outfits and be proud of our figures, some of us are just too busy to get our bums down the gym others may not have the confidence! Whatever your reason is, there are some simple things you can do in your life that will make huge changes to your figure. Once you begin to see how these small changes to your diet improve your figure and overall health these new habits will stay with you! Give some of them a try after a while friends and family will start to comment on your new slender silhouette.

So let’s get started!


1. Stay Away From Sugars & Sweeteners – as tempting as sweet things are they really are no good for your waistline or your teeth. If you have a sweet teeth stock up on dried unsweetened fruits. These are a great alternative and are full of healthy nutrients.


2. Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water aim for two litres each day. It is proven that those of you who drink more water each day tend to lose more weight.


3. High Sugar Drinks & Alcohol – it’s surprising just how much sugar is added to drinks not just fizzy but soft drinks and flavoured waters; limit the amount you consume. Cut down to one sugar in tea and coffee. All of these changes can seriously cut the amount of sugar you consume – this alone can make a massive impact to your figure. You just have to have the will power!


4. Eat Fresh – cutting out processed foods; cook from fresh this way you know exactly what you are eating as nothing is hidden in the ingredients. Eating a lot of processed food such as sausages, burgers and pies will make you look and feel bloated due to high salt content. Cutting them out will improve your waist line and your skin.


5. Carbohydrates – Cut down on carbs this will instantly help you to lose weight. The best way to do this is by reducing starchy foods such as potatoes, bread, pasta and sugars.


6. Fibre - Eat more whole grains and fibre these will keep you feeling fuller for longer.


7. Meats – Choose lean meats such as skinless chicken, fish. Grill them instead of frying and serve with fresh salad or vegetable.


8. Smoothies – Fill up during the day with fresh smoothies and juices – make your own the night before so it’s ready to go the next day. Watch out for the added sugar and sweeteners in shop bought ones.


9. Think! Are You Just Experiencing Empty Mouth Syndrome! – When you feel the urge to snack think about a couple of things before you put anything in your mouth;

  • What it was you last had to eat?
  • When did you have it?

You may find you are just thirsty and need a quick drink to keep the hunger away.


10. Did You Know? That a pound of fat is equal to around 3500 calories. If you cut down by 3500 calories over the course of the week you would be a pound lighter, over a year that’s 52lb.


11. Exercise – This doesn’t need to be intense! Do some power walking, choose stairs over lifts and escalators, carry the shopping home instead of taking the car all of these will help you to burn off the calories.  If you’re sitting all day try contracting your ab’s and bum muscles this will help to tone them. If you ache the next day you’re doing it right.


12. Add Waist Training – Waist train alongside all of the above and you will see your waist transform

 

Start slowly ladies pick one and stick with it, when you find that gets easier pick another challenge and give that a go. Before you know it you will see the excess pounds falling off :)
